Error messages with EIT in their names

Postby DVB-S PL » Fri Aug 26, 2011 10:45 pm

OVERVIEW

SmartDVB is using database engine to store EPG (Electronic Program Guide) data from channels. This database is updated in background.
If Your PC will crach by some reason (not SmartDVB related) and at that moment SmartDVB filled EPG database with events - EPG database can be damaged.

SYMPTOMS

When loading & using SmartDVB You see error messages with text:
- UpdateEITEventQuery: Error querying eitevent
- database disk image is malformed
- LoadEITChannelFromQuery: Error deleting eit events

Below screenshots provided by user ronart - thanks :D

SOLUTION

Do not reinstall whole SmartDVB (it won't help as EPG database when uninstalling is not deleted).

Delete file smarteit.db from SmartDVB directory. This file will be automatically recreated when You will run SmartDVB again. You won't lose any settings, channel list etc. Only EPG data (schedule) will have to be downloaded one more time by SmartDVB, to fill again smarteit.db file with correct data.
