preventing the "run as administrator" confirmation window

Postby arin70 » Wed Jul 04, 2018 12:00 am

Due to frequent freeze problems I have passed to the portable 64bit version of SmartDvb (version 0.5.1.1 Beta 1).
I have two main problems. Here is the first one (I don't want to point the second one because maybe the resolution of the first one solves it too).
I'm running Windows 8.1 64bit.
Every time I start SmartDvb, a window asks me to run it as administrator and I'm forced to click on the "yes" button. Is there any way to avoid it and start the program with no nag screen?
Thank you in advance.

you should be able to change this with the smartdvb.exe properties (using the file explorer go the folder where smartdvb.exe is, right-lick on smartdvb.exe and select properties. Go to the compatibility tab and make sure the 'run this program as administrator' checkbox is disabled.
I don't think this would affect any crash you might have or freeze, current 38 might have some bugs related to SmartOSD changes so disable smartosd and see if freezes still remain.

best regards

Hi!
I'm new on this forum. I have this problem with the same version of SmartDVB but on win7 @ 64. moreover, it does not only ask me "yes or no" but I have to enter the administrator password, it's rather annoying ...
I tried as recommended but does not change the request. is there any way to solve?
thanks
